II. Call to Order: 7:03 pm
III. Proxies: Laurie Webster to Silvia Fleitz
IV. Minutes of previous meeting: Minutes of the May and June 2015 were read and approved.
V. Correspondence/Electronic votes or communications: Laurie Webster found out from our tax accountant that it will be fine for the Friends to pay for a contracted landscaper to take care of the library grounds and notified other officers and Lee via email.
VI. Financial report: was submitted by Laurie Webster via email. Total balance all accounts is $8021.24. Read the full report.
VII. Librarian’s report: presented by Lee. Gretchen Groenke has contracted with the library for upkeep of landscape. Rainmaker is coming to give a bid on a drip system. Lee will be asking the Friends for the money to pay for this.
VIII. Projects Summary:
A. Stanton Englehart sales/online inquiries: Carolyn has not had a chance to check at Absolute Bakery yet, she will restock there later this week. She would like to get our Englehart merchandise back onto our website. Lee will talk to Dana about this.
B. Library Book Bags: 3 more have sold.
IX. Old Business
A. Donor recognition bench/ table: Lee has talked with the staff and the consensus is that they would like a metal picnic table rather than a bench. It would sit on the north side of the library under a tree where there was a bench previously. Lee is talking with Bonnie Loving about possibly making one out of horseshoes.
X. New Business
A. Mancos Days Book Sale and “Friends Only” Ice Cream Social: Silvia will put out a call for volunteers and a sign-up sheet. Carolyn offered to play hammered dulcimer during the ice cream social. Silvia will talk with Moose and More about possibly providing ice cream. Lee will talk with Dana about doing flyers and PSA. Lee will initiate the “No Store” book program after the sale where we send out our excess left over books to other libraries and communities in need.
